Frequently Asked Questions

What is BIAB™?

BIAB™ stands for Builder In A Bottle and is a collection of professional builder gels from The GelBottle, developed to strengthen natural nails and, depending on the formula, create nail extensions too.

BIAB™ is available in several formulas, including Original BIAB™, Fibre BIAB™ and Hard BIAB™. Each formula has its own properties in terms of strength, flexibility, application and removal.

The regular soak-off BIAB™ formulas can be soaked off according to the recommended instructions for use. Hard BIAB™, on the other hand, is an extra-strong, file-off builder gel that is not soak-off. It is therefore important to consider the specific formula when choosing and removing BIAB™.

Depending on the variant, BIAB™ is suitable for strengthening natural nails, supporting nail growth by providing extra strength, or creating nail extensions. This means you can choose the formula best suited to the desired length and strength for each client and treatment.

What are the most popular BIAB™ colors?

What are the steps I need to take to apply BIAB™?

This differs per BIAB™ and can be found on the product page of the relevant product under the heading 'Description'.

What do I need if I want to perform a BIAB™ treatment?

If you want to start with Original BIAB™, we recommend The GelBottle Original BIAB™ Starter Kit.

Would you like to select the products yourself? In addition to basic items such as a lamp, a file, and a liner brush, you will need:
- Degreaser (Klear Acetone or Velvet Scrub)
- BIAB™ of your choice
- Extreme Shine Topcoat

*Some BIAB™ shades require a Clear Rubber Base as a base layer

Can I use BIAB™ for extensions?

Yes, this is possible. With the Original BIAB™ you can create a small edge, and with the Fibre and Hard BIAB you can create longer extensions.

Which BIAB can I use to apply DesignEx Pro?

You can apply DesignEx Pro with Fibre BIAB™.

Should I remove the sticky layer from the BIAB™?

This is not required, but especially if you apply a Top Coat directly over it, it provides the best result. For this, you can use Klear Don't Be Tacky.

What is the difference between Original BIAB™, Fibre BIAB™, and Hard BIAB™?

The difference lies in the purpose for which you use it. Do you use it for natural nails, extensions, or reinforcement? Do you want to use it in combination with DesignEx, and do you want to use a Rubber Base Coat underneath it or not? In the Find your formula overview, you can see exactly which BIAB™ is suitable for your treatment.

What is the difference between Original BIAB™, Fibre BIAB™, and Hard BIAB™?

What is the best way to remove BIAB™?

Original BIAB™ and Fibre BIAB™
are soak-off. To do this, first file through the Topcoat (as this is not soak-off) using a 120/180 file. You can then soak off the BIAB™ using Klear The fast and Soakable and soak-off foils. Hard BIAB™ is not soak-off and must be removed using a hand file or electric nail drill.
